Mailing and Postal Services Available
We offer a complete selection of mailing and courier services for FSU departments to move their mail and packages to recipients as effectively and efficiently as possible. Our drivers pick-up and deliver to building mail rooms twice daily to expedite your correspondence. Whether you are sending an envelope across campus or to an international destination, our professional staff will deliver in the manner requested by the department.
Outgoing First Class United States
This mail is handled as priority mail in our facility. Most incoming mail and packages received at our facility will be processed and delivered to the main USPS plant the same day. Special expedited services are available, such as Express Mail, Priority Mail, Delivery Confirmation, Return Receipt Requested, and Express International Mail. An FSU Postal Charge Slip should be completed and bundled with each type of outgoing mail process requested.
Outgoing Standard or Non-Profit USPS Mail
This mail is handled as we receive it in our facility as quickly as possible. It usually requires more preparation from our staff than first class, therefore it can take up to three days for processing. Your department receives savings in postage when prepared in this manner. We do not suggest this type of service when you are mailing time sensitive material. Be sure to allow sufficient time for this mail to move through the USPS mail stream as well. An FSU Mail Preparation Form is submitted to us with this type of mailing.
Incoming USPS mail and Intra-Campus Mail
We receive mail from our USPS Tallahassee post office. Our staff prepares mail for delivery to the building mail rooms. We make every attempt to have all mail delivered to your department mail box the same day we receive it. Keep in mind that the volume of mail is typically heavier during key deadline periods and after weekends and holidays.
USPS Incoming Mail Addressing Standards
All incoming campus mail should use the department's assigned P.O. Box number. A street address can also be used, but only if a P.O. Box number is also on the envelope as the last line before the city, state, zip.
Example:
Florida State University
Department Street Address
P.O. Box 306+Dept. Mail Code example: 3061234

Intra-Campus Mail Addressing Standards
All internal campus mail should use the department's full name, name of intended recipient and the P.O. Box number. The P.O. Box Number consists of the departmental assigned mail code with the last three digits of our zip code in front (306)
